MIKAT Constructions successfully delivered the Ben Lexcen Townhouse Development, a premium multi-residential project comprising eight architecturally designed three-storey townhouses in the sought-after suburb of Mt Warren Park, Queensland.
Situated on a 6,800m² site at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac off Mt Warren Boulevard, the development has been carefully integrated into a natural koala habitat surrounded by native bushland. Designed by renowned architect Dennis Butler of Vabasis Architects, the project captures breathtaking easterly views extending to Stradbroke Island while preserving the natural character of the site.
Complex Site Challenges and Expert Construction Solutions
As experienced Brisbane and South East Queensland builders, MIKAT Constructions managed significant engineering and construction challenges throughout the project. The steeply sloping site featured approximately nine metres of elevation change and required more than 3,500m³ of rock excavation.
Extensive retaining structures, including retaining walls reaching heights of nearly eight metres, required specialised rock anchoring systems and detailed coordination between engineers, geologists, and construction teams. Despite more than 1,000mm of rainfall during construction, meticulous planning and project management ensured the successful delivery of the development.
